I hiked to Langtang Valley on 24th February 2022 and experienced the first snowfall of the year. The excitement of witnessing the snowfall for the first time was over the moon. But, the snowfall made it impossible to hike to Tsergo Ri.

Here, I’m going to share with you my Langtang Valley Trek experience. Also, I’ll give you the Langtang Trek Itinerary we followed and where we stayed during this trek.

First, I’m sharing our itinerary, which was short, of just five days, starting from Kathmandu and ending in Kathmandu.

Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi and Trek to Pairo

My friend and I took the first trip on the bus from Machhapokhari Chowk to Syabrubesi. The route to Syabrubesi was decent. We stopped for lunch at Trishuli Bazaar.

We brought two Langtang Valley Trek Permits at the checkpost at Dhunche.

From Dhunche, it took another one and a half hours to Syabrubesi. We stopped at a restaurant for some brunch. It took us almost 8 hours from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi.

As we started hiking, we took the wrong route and walked for 30 minutes. Later, we found the right trail, which was well-marked. But, as we started hiking, no one was heading to Pairo or the place en route. Haha! It was a strenuous one-hour hike to Tiwari, where we crossed a suspension bridge and joined the main course.

Past Langtang Khola Hydropower Dam, it ascends for 20–20 minutes.

We reached Pairo at around 6 pm. It was getting dark. Also, we had some issues with one of the tea house owners. If you’re reading this, please don’t stay at Hotel Namaste in Pairo. It’s super expensive, and the owners could also be more friendly. They threatened us and said they’d break our legs because we didn’t stay in their lodge.

We stayed at Hotel Pairo River View. It was affordable — Rs 800 for breakfast, dinner, a twin-sharing room, and a few cups of tea.

Day 2: Trek from Pairo to Langtang Village

I do more than sharing my travel stories here. I’m a licensed trekking guide who runs a trekking company, NepTrek Adventures. How cool!
